Business Situation
Our client is a law firm that operates six offices with over 90 attorneys on staff. They specialize in civil and criminal law at both the state and federal level. Recently, the client served as outside counsel for a legal malpractice case, which required a large amount of document review (over 2000 boxes) as part of the discovery process - and they didn't have the staff resources needed. Initially, the client staffed the project with law clerks. Later, to increase productivity, they changed their approach and hired project attorneys. Project Scope
The project consisted of reviewing thousands of paper and electronic documents over a seven-month period. Originally, project attorneys were hired from Robert Half Legal. When additional project attorneys were needed, both Robert Half Legal and non-Robert Half employees were hired. Attorneys were divided into teams - one for paper document review and the other for electronic document review.
